King the Land (Rom-com)

I started watching this show when it was released a few weeks ago on Netflix, you have to wait each week for two more episodes and I think I have watched 4 episodes so far, although, thinking about it that's a lot of relatively long episodes for so little reward. As not much has really happened. In total there are going to be 16 episodes, so still a fair way to go.

First Impressions...

Its predictable, reminiscent of all Korean romantic dramas (what is it with them loving arrogant grumpy men with more money than sense?), cheesy in places with the slo-mo and a waste of talent.

Things I like about it, its easy to watch with very little investment needed into the storyline, the hotel looks nice if not a little like a shopping centre, the two friends whose story's we also get to see are good actresses and have likeable characters who are relatable.

Things that I don't like so much, the sibling arch nemesis who has been mean to him since childhood, the main female lead being rude and outspoken to her boss at work because of an earlier mistaken identity. moment. Mainly because they make out that the woman is so professional and perfect but she doesn't seem to be. I don't like that they have her act like because she has never had a lot of money that she can find the joy in staring inanely at a wind spinner. It made her seem a little pathetic.

The more I think about this show the more I do not like the characterisations of the women..
